Would you accept less money for more engaging work? Salary vs. Dream Job

I have had plenty of conversations related to engagement and the meaningful of an employee’s job duties. How important is your work to you? Would you take less money for your dream job!? In my experience, people are more willing to accept their dream job regardless of the pay (realistically, no one is going to volunteer to live in poverty while working). I thought this article was in support of my experiences and philosophy on the matter.
